This male pelican was in breeding plumage, meaning that he was ready to mate. That is why he was so colorful. He was on a dock were fish were being filleted. The workers gave to rest of the fish to the pelicans, so this one was more trusting than most. I photographed him on Fuji Velvia slide film with a Nikon camera and a 150-500 mm lens.
